back after a long break from the com =[ shall blog abt today first then cca promo if i have the time. this is my compo for eng. Today was a hands – on kind of day as compared to the monotonous croaking from slimy frogs that were noisy and utterly disgusting. Today was the day that the students that were not in OBS (Outward Bound Singapore) visited the NUS (National University of Singapore) museum. We were first divided into two groups. Our group was doing the sculpting which I was looking forward to. The lady in charge introduced Ms Reidi - an artist that would guide us through our ‘endeavour’. She looked quite like the typical artist in my mind – large hoop earrings, baggy clothes and a cap. We took the lift up to the top floor where we were told to look around at the art sculptures by Ng Eng Teng, pick a favourite and sketch it out on a piece of paper. I felt that his sculptures were flowing with emotion. His art focused mainly on humanity. My favourite was ‘An Experiment’. As there were two sculptures in the exhibit, I picked the more complicated one. It was black and had a zigzag line through a curved box. After sketching, we proceeded down to the Celadon room to get started. Sculpting was the best. The provided clay was cold but easy to work with. Firstly, I moulded the clay into the specific shapes. Then, I attached the clay to some sticks for support. Finally, I smoothed it with some water. It sounds easy but it actually took me quite long to complete the entire thing! There was a girl who dipped her hands into water before touching the clay and when she did, the clay rubbed off on her hand leaving it a ghastly white. Once everyone was finished with their masterpieces, we cleared up, said thank you and left NUS. Upon reaching the school, we had a forty minute lunch before being dismissed. Going to the museum today really broadened my horizons and proved that museums are not old, creepy, and stores junk. The NUS museum was very modern and the clean. Going for this workshop allowed me to prove that I am at least that bit artistic. I guess it brought out the artist in me. ------------------------------------------------------------- yes ytd we went to the froggy farm. eew now chatting with bren choir today was ok. =] cca promo- it was a blast!gosh shall upload the pics soon samantha came back too =] yay then we [bero putt and a whole lotta ppl] became walking ads when we stuck the posters to the back of our uniforms. =] took pics too =] and videos singing by the side was real fun =] made me feel the fun i used to have in pri sch choir. i mean this is why people join choir if they love to sing. -terminated- |
