in this post i will briefly describe my wonderful BANGKOK trip. for more details, please go to my sister's blog. thankyou. so as you all know, i went to the land of smiles along with my sis, mom, aunts and most, of their offspring. it was really early in the morning when all of you were snoring off in your own little world. mom,lil sissy and i reached the budget terminal before the rest. so after checking in, we sat down for breakfast - a real heavy one. i had a plate of fried rice. yum! on the flight, i managed to get these pictures in my half awake sleep and jugling a seriously irritating flu. when we arrived at the new airport whose long name i cannot recall, we claimed our baggage and walked around trying to find our van driver. when we finally found him, we plonked ourselves into the vehicle and was sent to a place called hok kee for a truly sumptious lunch. there we had the thai style of our or luak which i LOVE. and goose meat that tasted of a mixture of duck and chicken... plus a few more not that er... outstanding dishes. nonetheless, a good lunch. oh we checked into our hotel, more commonly known as grand china princess, located in Chinatown. next we headed to the Bayoke where it was quite interesting. mom showed off her bargaining prowess here. =] we also got munchkins - mini donuts they came in a box which was just as adorable as the former. [though it was pink] overall i got a bangle, 6 munchkins and a pair of sports shoes. munchkins- at night, we visited somboon-a seafood place for dinner. part of the reason was to celebrate ema's birthday. the food was reasonably good although the prawns could'nt match those of the auntie and the satay, was quite a laugh. literally. day 2 we visited the weekend market- chaatuchak =]] it really surpassed my expectations despite being there before. i bought stuff for the zoomates, a bowl and spoon for myself, shorts, stuff for alto2, black slippers and my lil friend =]that ruth adores =] haha hmmm... then we spent an insane amount of time looking for the jj mall. nothing much. went to robinson's after that. [different from the robinsons back home] bought a nicee tee which i might be wearing to band concert =]also went to carefour over there and got some snacks. nap time. dinner was at the not so famous auntie's seafood place which name i still know not. nevertheless, i finally got my beloved big head prawns!!! yay! nothing else quite mattered... then we went on tho eat ah bor leng which is those glutinous rice balls with sesame fillings in ginger soup. the 4 sisters also ate durian. ooh sumptious dinner. then ema opened her presents!! i made brownies =] day 3 we went to ribbon centre the next morning. bought some stuff for myself and the sec 3's of alto 2. walked the streets of chinatown. bought some earrings. although i only have 1 earhole open. but they are real cute! won't tell you the design. haha then the big move to pathumwan princess - our next and final hotel. it was masive... the amount of bags zhong e and ema and big e had... true blue shopaholics. after settling down and a decent lunch at mbk food centre,we went swimming at the hotel pool. well actually more like play water and soak in the jacuzzi with mom. haha then came a snack at the hotel lobby. yum! slight bout of shopping at mbk. dinner was at hok kee again. however it was'nt as good as the first time. but i got some pictures of the food! day 4 the last day. after a ok breakfast at the hotel, we got into mbk for some last minute shopping. i finally got my pair of shoes. turns out the original store had my size. so irritating. nearly escalated into a fiasco. [ in my mind] got a dq ice cream =]]. dq has the best vanilla ice cream. then after lunch where i had tom yum soup and fried rice, [suprise!] we checked out and headed to the fly infested fruit market. boring. but mom got lychees and mangoes. headed to the airport. had a photo taking spree.will not post those as mom wants to sleep soon. so i have to go off soon. dinner in the airport. not so great. i had a nice mango thingy though.my last 120 baht. worth it i think. our flight to no surpise, was delayed. [hey, it's budget!] finally got home early tuesdaY. went for choir at 8 plus. according to mama lemon, i looked half dead. haha' no wonder. -terminated- ps. deytails of workshop will be in next post if i remember. so brenda, either wait or i think you can check deborah's blog =] |
